Modutils

It is recommended to add the following lines to /etc/modprobe.d/aliases and/or /etc/modutils/aliases:

# DVB configuration
alias char-major-250 dvb
alias dvb ttusb-dec

subsequently running update-modules as root.

This has never done anything for me (apart from letting modprobe complain that it doesn't understand the below line). It is supposed to allow the modules to be loaded automatically upon access to the DVB devices. You should assume that the lines above are wrong.
